A female patient aged 38 years presented to Gynecology department of Parul Sevashram Hospital with complaints of lump in abdomen & difficulty in passing urine.
On examination and investigation, a large cervical fibroid of 9 by 10 cm was found requiring surgical intervention.
Patient was operated for Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy (TLH) wherein bilateral uterine artery ligation was performed at origin followed by tracing of ureter to avoid excessive bleeding and to safeguard the ureter respectively. The fibroid was very vascular and meticulous dissection was required to prevent excessive bleeding.
Patient’s post operative stay was uneventful and was discharged on 5th post operative day.
