- Papilloma
- overgrowth of all layers of the skin with a central vascular core
- AKA skin tags or fibroepithelial polyps
- Increasingly common with age
- Can occur anywhere in the skin esp neck, trunk, face, anus
Approach
- Examine as for any lump
- Inspect
- Occurs anywhere on skin
- Pedunculated swelling (may be sessile)
- Flesh-coloured
- Palpation
- Soft on palpation
Completion
- Ask how the lump affects life
- Similar lumps elsewhere
- Associated conditions
- Pregnancy
- Diabetes
- Intestinal polyposis
Treament
- Surgical excision
