Sternocleidomastoid pseudotumour
- Ischaemic contracture of segment of muscle
- Seen in 1-2 weeks after birth (complication of breech births)
- Normally disappears over the first 4-6 months of life
- Babies may present with torticollis
- Management: early diagnosis, non-surgical treatment with active stimulation and passive stretching, occassional botulinum toxin injection. If diagnosis is made late, may need surgical correction
